Fact 1: The average person walks approximately 130,000 kilometres in their lifetime, which equates to more than 3 times around the world.

Fact 2: Rarely are both of your feet identical – nearly always we have one foot larger than the other.

Fact 3: Feet contain more than one quarter of all the bones found in the body

Fact 4: By the time we are 12 years old our feet are 90% of our adult size

So give your feet a little daily attention.  


TIPS FOR PERFECT FEET

  1. Make sure that you wear good fitting shoes and that your shoes don’t put pressure on your toes

  2. Chilblains are caused by exposure to the cold, they can be prevents by avoiding extremes of temperature. If your feet do get cold warm them gently. If you do find chilblains apply 1 drop of Geranium oil to the affected area, do this once a day for 2 days

  3. Keep exercising through the long winter months- this boots circulation and you therefore reduce the risk of cold feet and toes

  4. Squeezing your feet into ill-fitting shoes can cause corns calluses and ingrown toenails

  5. Give them a daily massage to improve circulation you could use an aromatherapy oil as this will also help to keep the skin on your feet soft

  6. Use a foot file or pumice stone regularly to remove hard skin and stop it building up

 


A QUICK AND EASY PEDICURE TO HELP KEEP FEET SWEET

Your feet absorb huge amounts of pressure from approximately 9000 steps per day! – Give them a treat

  1. Take off any old nail varnish
  2. Fill a large bowl or foot spa with warm water and add your favourite foot soak, soak your feet for 10minutes – relax
  3. Then use your foot file or pumice stone to remove the hard skin from your feet, you can also use your nailbrush to clean around the toes and toe nails
  4. Exfoliate your feet and lower leg with a loofah to move the dead skin. Removing this layer of dead skin from the surface not only allows your feet to look radiant but also allows your feet to absorb and benefit from a foot massage with essential oils.
  5. Next trim the toe nails taking care not to cut into the corners. Cut straight across and then using an emery board – going in one direction only smooth and shape
  6. Now wash the feet with soap and water and gently dry.
  7. Last step choose your colour and varnish – separate the toes with cotton wool or toe separators apply the base coat and leave to dry, and then apply to layers of top coat to seal.
  8. Admire your gorgeous feet!
