Massage Oils Online - massage help & product information

Massage can be undertaken alone, with a partner or by going to a masseur. Whatever course you take the benefits are well worth the effort, it can help you recover from sports or muscle related injuries, stress relief, detoxification or just for the pleasure of it! The following will hopefully give you some help and perhaps some ideas...

Massage Techniques

There are several different types of massage that can be used depending on the circumstances and what you are trying to achieve. The main types of massage are;

  • Effleurage (Stroking Movements)

  • Petrissage (Kneading Movements)

  • Friction (Circular Movements)

  • Head Massage

You or your massage partner need to decide what types of massage technique is needed for any given area of the body. For more help and details of these techniques and what type of massage to use we have another page detailing this information.

Massage Oils

Whilst massage can be undertaken without the use of oil it helps if the skin is lubricated. This can be with a simple vegetable oil, (Grapeseed, Sweet Almond, Peach Kernel etc) that can give particular benefit apart from lubricating the skin. Some oils contain, higher levels of vitamins and minerals, vitamin E is particularly good for skin.

Of course you can go one step further and use a blended massage oil, often referred to as aromatherapy massage, which uses a vegetable oil as a base and will also contain drops of essential oil. Each blend is designed to relieve or 'treat' a particular condition.

Sensual Massage

Massage can be used to arouse the senses, again the use of oil and other substances are quite common. Blended oils such as Sensual Oil Mix, uses Ylang Ylang and jasmine to soothe, but also excite the senses with these heady scents.

Massage Tools can be helpful to remove 'knots' in muscles, they require little or no pressure to work, yet give good relief without the pain sometimes associated with a masseur.
